Is Saw X going to be good? ›

Saw X delivers the most personal & bloodiest entry to date, easily making it the best Saw movie sequel & proving there's still life in this franchise.

At the end of the movie, the man and the woman remained in the same room and the man died. The time ran out, but the woman put her head out and escaped the poisonous gas.

They free Carlos from the other end of the trap, and he is even given the bag of cash that Cecilia had as a reward for surviving the event. This allows all three of them to leave the warehouse safely and alive, as Cecilia is left locked in the room with no means of escape.

Saw X was theatrically released by Lionsgate Films on September 29, 2023. It grossed $111 million worldwide and received generally positive reviews from critics, making it the best-reviewed Saw film. A sequel, Saw XI, is scheduled for release on September 26, 2025.

“Saw X” was never really scary, but the relentless gore was certainly horrific in its own terrible way. In the interstices of each violent challenge, Kramer and his sidekick Amanda Young, a reformed drug addict whom Kramer “saves” in the original Saw film, argue about whether their ambitions are just.

This entry, while still very much a Saw movie, was different, but in a good way. The pacing felt like Saw 3 as did the tone. It had good length and did not feel rushed like some of the unfortunate sequels that between Saw 5-3D.

But before John and Amanda can take her to the hospital to have her injuries treated, Parker is able to take back his gun and it's revealed that he's actually Cecilia's lover, arriving to save her. He forces them to free Cecilia—and she kills Gabriela.

In the end, Cecilia kills her partner, just as Amanda Young predicted, and saves herself. Saw X shows that she manages to survive the test, and although the timer counts down to zero and the poisonous gas rescinds, Cecilia is left inside the locked room.

John Kramer is alive in Saw X because the events of the tenth entry take place before the protagonist's death in Saw III.

Yesterday, Lionsgate unveiled a poster for the new Saw movie – which happens to be the tenth installment in the franchise, so it's following in the footsteps of Jason X and Fast X to go by the title Saw X. Lionsgate officially confirmed Saw XI with an Instagram post on Monday, and revealed a release date that actually isn't too far away: Sept. 27, 2024. That means we'll have two Septembers in a row with new Saw movies, as Saw X came out late this past September.

The character serves as the secondary antagonist in Saw IV, and the main antagonist in Saw V, VI and 3D. He also has a brief vocal cameo and physically appears in the mid-credits scene of Saw X, setting up a new trap alongside Jigsaw.

Although a slower burn than its trailer would suggest, X still manages to be an effectively nasty 70s slasher throwback, with enough sex and violence to satisfy horror fans. Fresh score. A modern slasher masterpiece that loves its ancestors.

Saw X may be the best Saw movie now that the franchise is well defined. It did everything you'd want from a Saw movie and more. So in the context of the Saw series for fans of it, sure I can see that. But it doesn't come anywhere close to the original Saw as a standalone movie.
